The location of the Inn makes it an ideal centre for a touring holiday visiting such places as Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, the Mull of Kintyre and Campeltown, Dunoon and the Cowal Peninsula, Tighnabruaich and the Kyles of Bute and the Western Highlands.

Ardkinglas Woodland Gardens, on our doorstep,

Many of Britain’s champion trees can be found in Ardkinglas Woodland Garden, including some of the tallest trees in Europe. The garden is of interest to the plant enthusiast or those wanting a peaceful woodland walk - watch out for the red squirrels! And be sure to go see the tallest tree in Britain!

Here We Are, 1.7 miles,
Stop in at Here We Are for a fascinating journey visiting the past, present and future of Cairndow. They also have a meeting room and computers for hire.

The Tree Shop, 1.7 miles,

So much more than trees! Inside the Tree Shop you will also find a café and an array of quality gifts including wood-turning and carvings made from British timbers by local crafts people among many other treasures.

Fyne Ales, 1.7 miles,

Ales made with the Finest Malt and Highland Water. Three beers are brewed regularly: Piper’s Gold, Maverick and Highlander. On sale at the Stagecoach Inn.

Loch Fyne Oysters, 1.7 miles,

Seafood Restaurant, Shop and Mail order service. Finest West Highland seafood along with locally sourced products ranging from wild boar to home baking.

Inveraray Jail, 9.7 miles
Experience one of the finest and best preserved Jail and Courtroom complexes in the world. Step back in time and find out what life was like for men, women and children - some as young as 7 who were tried and locked up there.

For the hill walker and climber, Cairndow is within easy reach of some of the finest hill walks and mountaineering in Scotland, including Glencoe. Some of the mountains only a few miles from the Inn are Beinn Ime, Ben Vane, Beinn an Lochain, Ben Bhuidhe and the “Cobbler”, featuring Ben Arthurs Seat.

Inveraray Castle, 10 miles,
Inveraray Castle is the ancestral home of the Duke of Argyll, Chief of the Clan Campbell and the iconic, must-see visitor attraction on the West Coast of Scotland.

Argyll Adventure, 12.5 miles,
Located just outside Inveraray Argyll Adventure offers many activities inluding; Horse Riding, Pony Rides, Horse Riding Lessons, Paintballing, Crossbow Range, Laser Storm, Climbing Walls & Bungee Trampoline.

Cruachan, 29 miles,
Hidden deep within the mountain of Ben Cruachan on the shores of Loch awe is Cruachan Power Station. You can discover one of the hidden wonders of the Highlands. A power station buried one kilometre below the ground. At its centre lies a massive cavern, high enough to house the Tower of London! Here enormous turbines convert the power of water into electricity, available to you in your home at the flick of a switch.

With over 2,000 acres of stunning scenery, exhilarating outdoor fun at any time of the year is guaranteed!

Perhaps you just want a little peace and quiet. We suggest a walk up Glen Fyne possibly as far as the Lairige Dam, or just along the lane in the village, past the octagonal church, for a visit to the beautiful shrubbery gardens of Ardkinglas.
