How To Find Us

By Car

From the South: 1 hour drive from Glasgow, by Loch Lomond-side to Tarbet, then the A83 through the "Arrochar Alps"

From the North: Either the A82, Crianlarich down Loch Lomond to Tarbet and the A83, or the A85 to Dalmally, A819 to Inverary and the A83.

By Train

From Arrochar Station, A83 across rest and be thankful to Cairndow village. Just past Dunoon turn off, taxi can be arranged.

By Bus

From Buchanan Bus Station, Glasgow. 1.5 hours journey to monument at Cairndow. Inn 200 yards along single track road in middle of village.

By Air

From Glasgow Airport, west on M8 motorway via the Erskine Bridge. A82 north up to Loch Lomond-side to Tarbert. Then A83 west through Arrochar over rest and be thankful to Cairndow. Just past Dunoon turn-off.

By Ferry

From Dunoon terminals, A815 up Loch Eck to Strachur then along east shore of Loch Fyne to A83 junction. Turn left 0.5 miles to Cairndow village. Inn in middle of village, 0.5 miles down single track road.
